History. Culture. People. Food
Documented history in Sri Lanka can be traced back for 3,000 years. It is an important Buddhist location with thousands of temples, dagobas and other religious sites.

With a population consisting of Sinhalese & Tamils, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, and Christians it is a vibrant place with a rich heritage. Sri Lanka is one of the only countries in the world which can boast of 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites (6 cultural & 2 natural), one of which is on the south coast – the historic and beautiful Galle Fort.

Sri Lanka’s landscape is one of great diversity from mountains covered in tea plantations, lush national parks with stunning flora & fauna, and idyllic beaches stretching on for miles.

Food is a huge part of Sri Lankan culture, delicate flavours, bright natural colours, and incredible aromas. Sri Lankan cuisine plays a vital role in the islanders’ life from dishes for the the most auspicious days normal day-to-day meals.

Sri Lanka’s civil war ended in 2009 and since the country has remained stable & is continuing to prosper with experts calling Sri Lanka the most attractive of all frontier markets (see Investor section).
